
Mustangs Finish 11th at Leadership & Golf Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Three Mustangs finished in the top 48 in the individual standings as the Cal Poly women's golf team took 11th out of 16 teams at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at the very tough Chambers Bay Golf Course.
The Mustangs finished 30 over par for the three round tournament at the infamous course that has hosted multiple PGA and LPGA tour events over the years.
Sophomore Sarah Yoo led the way for the Mustangs, coming in 33rd at seven over par. After shooting four over in the first round, Yoo found her groove the next two, shooting one over in round two and two over in round three. She has now finished 12th and 33rd in the first two tournaments of the season.
Senior Jensen Jalufka was right behind Yoo at eight over par to finished tied for 34th. After an opening round of five over, Jalufka had an incredible second round, shooting five under par which matched the lowest single round score by a player in the tournament.
Freshmen Nicole Koong and Sara Torres finished tied for 41st and 46th respectively. Koong shot 10 over par but had a three under second round score while Torres shot 11 over par. Senior Kamille Dimayuga finished tied for 48th at 12 over par.
The Mustangs will head to Fort Collins, Colo. next week for the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic at Ptarmigan Country Club.
