FULL 2024 SCHEDULE | SEASON TICKETS
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Highlighted by 10 home matches and an early season showdown in San Luis Obispo with the 2022 national champions, the Cal Poly women's soccer program released its full 19-match 2024 regular season schedule Monday.
Season tickets for the 2024 Cal Poly women's soccer season are available now for $45 and can be purchased HERE. Single match tickets will go on sale soon.
Once again, all regular season home and Big West matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Kickoff times for all matches can be found on the Cal Poly women's soccer schedule page.
The Mustangs return 26 letterwinners, 10 starters and all seven All-Big West honorees from their 2023 squad that advanced to their ninth Big West Championship match, tied for the most all-time in conference history. In 2023, Cal Poly also set a program record for players to record a point in a season (21), matched a 27-year-old program record for goal scorers in a season (15) and for the first time in program history finished with six or more wins in Big West play for the third straight season.
Fans will get their first look at the 2024 squad when the program hosts its annual Green versus White intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Mustang Memorial Field Presented by French Hospital. The Mustangs will then host their only exhibition match against Trinity Western University (Richmond, British Columbia) on the following Saturday before opening their 2024 season at home on Thursday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. against Portland, who they fell to 2-0 on the road last season.
The battle with the Pilots kicks off a three-match homestand to open the season for Cal Poly as the team hosts Fresno State on Sunday, Aug. 18, and UCLA on Thursday, Aug. 22. A year ago, the Mustangs nearly secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw at 2022 national champion UCLA, who was ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time, before a foul in the box allowed the Bruins to convert a penalty kick in the 89th minute.
Cal Poly hits the road for the first time on Aug. 29 to take on Sacramento State and then heads to Pacific on Sept. 1. The Mustangs return home on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 4:30 p.m. to square off against Loyola Marymount as part of a doubleheader with the men's soccer team.
A road trip to Santa Clara, who advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago, is next up for the Mustangs on Sept. 8. Then a week later the team travels to Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 15 for a battle with Big 12 opponent TCU to wrap up its road nonconference schedule. The match will mark the first all-time meeting between the two teams.
Cal Poly kicks off Big West play at home on Thursday, Sept. 19, against Blue-Green rival UC Santa Barbara before putting a bow on nonconference play on Sunday, Sept. 22, with a Senior Day matchup at Mustang Memorial Field against Nevada, a team the program hasn't faced in 12 years. This will be the third straight season the Mustangs play a nonconference match after starting Big West action.
The Mustangs head to UC Riverside on Sept. 26 and Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 29 before hosting UC Irvine on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Long Beach State on Sunday, Oct. 6, for alumni weekend. Cal Poly will get a rare extended in-season break before traveling to CSUN on Oct. 17 and Cal State Bakersfield on Oct. 20.
Cal Poly caps off its 2024 home schedule with matches against Hawai'i on Thursday, Oct. 24, and UC Davis on Sunday, Oct. 27, before traveling to UC San Diego on Oct. 31 for its regular season finale.
The opening round of the Big West Championships is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3. The format for the six-team conference tournament is the same as the last two years with the top two schools in the 11-team Big West regular season standings receiving byes from the opening round, which will feature the third seed hosting the sixth seed, and the fourth seed hosting the fifth seed. The winners of those matches advance to the Big West semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 7 to face the top two seeds at the home field of the No. 1 overall seed. The Big West Championship match will be played on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the No. 1 seed. Last season, Cal Poly made a run to the conference championship final as the No. 3 seed before coming up short to UC Irvine 1-0. The Anteaters went on to advance to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
The experienced-laden Mustangs return nearly all of their offensive production from a year ago, including 13 goal scorers and 19 players that recorded a point. That returning offensive core includes forward Kate Reedy and midfielder McKenna Carbon, who are both back for a fifth and final year in 2024 as a result of COVID-19 wiping out the 2020 season. Three-fourths of Cal Poly's starting backline from a year ago is also back — centerbacks Aynsley Conner and Emma Brown and outside back Camryn Benn. Brown, one of 12 seniors on this year's team, is the reigning Big West Defensive Player of the Year. She started in all 21 matches for the Mustangs in 2023 and became the fourth player in program history to receive three United Soccer Coaches All-West Region selections by earning Second Team praise. Veteran netminder Mackenzie Samuel, the 2022 Big West Goalkeeper of the Year, will also be between the pipes for one last run at trying to help the Mustangs reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004.
Youth season tickets for women's soccer can be purchased through the Mustang Kids Club.
