LAS VEGAS — While it wasn't another conference title, Cal Poly women's golf has plenty to be proud about after finishing second at the Big West Championship while two Mustangs placed in the top five of the individual standings.
In the final round Tuesday, Cal Poly shot 10 over par as a team to finish 26 over for the tournament and take a firm hold of second, 11 shots ahead of third place Cal State Fullerton.

Jensen Jalufka took second place in the individual standings after finishing at two over par for the tournament. In the final round Tuesday, she had her best performance of the tournament, shooting a one under 71.
Jalufka capped off an incredible season that saw her set the program record for lowest single season scoring average at 72.7.
Kaylee Sakoda finished tied for fifth in the individual standings at four over par. Only Long Beach State had multiple players finish in the top five of the standings. For their performances, Jalufka and Sakoda were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
"Jensen and Kaylee both had a super solid week," second year head coach Courtney Roberts said. "Jensen is a fierce competitor, and it was great to see her finish under par today. She continues to impress us with her toughness and grit."
"We are grateful to have had Kaylee on our team for her final collegiate season. This week was another display of maturity and steadiness that she has impacted our program with all season. We wish her all the best as she continues to chase her dream as a pro golfer. She will always be a part of our Cal Poly Golf family," Roberts said of Sakoda.
For the tournament, Cal Poly tied for the lead in total birdies with 39. Individually, Sakoda led the field in pars with 40 while Neale led the way in birdies with 12.
The 2023-24 season was another strong one for Cal Poly. Of the nine tournaments they played this year, they finished in the top three in five of them. This also marked the fourth straight year the Mustangs have finished top two in the Big West Championship.
"The team's fight and effort these last three days and strong play over the courts of the season is a testament to what we are building here and the bright future ahead for this program."
