MEN'S 1-METER FINAL RESULTS
WOMEN'S 3-METER B FINAL RESULTS
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. — Freshman Justin Dolezal earned the highest finish in program history by a men's diver at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on Monday at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex.
On the second day of competition at the MPSF Diving Championships, Dolezal secured a podium finish in the men's 1-meter dive, placing third with a score of 292.20. It's the highest individual finish in a diving event by a Mustang on the men's side since the men's program joined the conference in 2014-15. The San Luis Obispo native owns the second-best score in school history in the event (338.48).
Fellow freshman Madden Saini also had a stellar showing in the event, taking sixth (260.35).
In the women's 3-meter dive, senior Briana Medvecki and freshman Shayna Gayer just missed out on qualifying for the A-final, but both had strong performances in the B-final. Gayer secured first in the B-final (263.90), grabbing ninth overall, while Medvecki earned runner-up in the B-final (255.20) to place 10th overall in the event. Medvecki is No. 2 all-time in the women's 3-meter dive (304.05) at Cal Poly.
Cal Poly opened the MPSF Diving Championships on Sunday with the women placing third out of seven schools in the team event. The men didn't have enough divers to take part in the team event, which does not count toward conference results or team scores.
Action on the third day of the MPSF Diving Championships starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The men will compete in the 3-meter, while the women hit the diving board for the 1-meter. You can follow the live results here and a livestream of the meet is available on Overnght with the purchase of a subscription.
