Bourland, Carter in Double Figures but Mustangs Fall at No. 3 USC

LOS ANGELES – Senior guard Sydney Bourland and sophomore forward Mary Carter each scored in double figures, but Cal Poly women's basketball fell on the road Saturday to powerhouse No. 3 USC 90-35.
Bourland finished with 12 points and six rebounds to lead the Mustangs (1-1). Carter scored 11 points and pulled down three rebounds as she finished with double figures for the second straight game.
The No. 3 Trojans (2-0) had six players score in double figures, led by All-American Juju Watkins' 16 points and six rebounds.
USC got out to a 36-4 lead in the first quarter and led 57-17 at halftime.
Cal Poly will stay on the road as next week they face the Big Sky preseason poll No. 1 and No. 2 in Montana State and Montana. The Mustangs will take on Montana State Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. PT followed by Montana on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. PT.
