
Cal Poly Women's Soccer Signs 6 to National Letters of Intent

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly women’s soccer program recently signed six talented student-athletes to National Letters of Intent.
Forwards Kenzie Herzing (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) and Kammy MacLennan (Portland, Ore.), midfielders Addie Crosno (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) and Farra Franklin (North Fork, Calif), and defenders Izzy Matteson (San Diego, Calif.) and Sam Walker (Danville, Calif.) are all set to join the Mustangs for the 2025 season.
“I am very excited about this recruiting class,” Cal Poly women’s soccer head coach Alex Crozier said about the Mustangs’ 2025-26 signing class. “We are adding a dynamic blend of athleticism, speed and soccer IQ to the program. I’m looking forward to seeing these Mustangs contribute and grow over the next four years.”
Addie Crosno (MF)
San Luis Obispo HS
Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, Crosno will become the 12th member of her family to attend Cal Poly when she joins the team next fall and the first to be a Mustang student-athlete. The three-time Scholar-Athlete helped SLO High reach the CIF Central Section Division I quarterfinals this past season and the Division II final in 2022.
The four-year letterwinner is a three-time CCAA All-Mountain League honoree and was named Mountain League MVP in 2024. Crosno also plays club for Central Coast United SC and plans on majoring in agricultural science at Cal Poly.


Farra Franklin (MF)
Yosemite HS
When Franklin joins the Mustangs next fall, she will be continuing a family legacy of playing soccer at the next level. Both her parents, Ryan and Caroline, played soccer at Cal, her older brother, Colton, is currently on the UC Davis men’s soccer team which plays San Diego in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday and her younger sister, Delaney, is set to join Franklin at Cal Poly in 2026 as she has already committed to the Mustangs.
While playing for Yosemite High in Oakhurst, Franklin has received Golden Boot honors the last three years, was named Offensive Player of the Year and recorded the most assists on the team. Franklin plays club for the Clovis Crossfire and has been involved with the sport since she was about 4 years old.
Kenzie Herzing (F)
JSerra Catholic HS
A JSerra Catholic High product, Herzing also comes from a family of college athletes. Her mother, Megan, played on the Cal Poly women’s soccer team from 1998-2002 and is the program record holder in career game-winning goals (18), while her father, Adam, was a wide receiver on the Cal Poly football team from 1998-2001 and played in the NFL for five years with four different teams — the Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers.
A two-time Scholar-Athlete while playing on the JSerra High varsity team as a freshman and sophomore, helping the Lions reach the CIF state playoffs both years and be crowned Best of the West champions in 2022. As a member of the HB Koge Slammers, Herzing has led the club team to three Elite Clubs National League Southwest Conference titles and the ECNL National Championship final three times.


Kammy MacLennan (F)
Jesuit HS
MacLennan has had a stellar prep career while playing for Jesuit High in Portland, Ore. As a four-year letterwinner and starter at attacking midfielder, she led the Crusaders to four consecutive Metro League titles and four straight state playoff appearances (2021-24). She was part of Jesuit’s OSAA 6A state championship team in 2022, which was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally by TopDrawerSoccer. The Crusaders also captured their 16th state title in program history and second in three years this past Saturday.
An honors student, MacLennan plays club for the Portland Thorns and was born in San Jose. Her mother, Leslie, is a Cal Poly alum and her older brother, Aidan, plays soccer at Division III Pomona-Pitzer.
Izzy Matteson (D)
Cathedral Catholic HS
Born and raised in San Diego, Matteson is a four-year letterwinner in both soccer and track and field at Cathedral Catholic High. In soccer, the 2023 First Team All-League defender helped the Dons reach the CIF Open Division semifinals and the CIF Division I state quarterfinals in 2023, and the CIF Open Division quarterfinals in 2024. Matteson also led Cathedral to runner-up finishes in the Western League the last two years. In track, Matteson has been a part of three Western League championship teams and three CIF Southern Section Division II title-winning squads (2022-24).
A Scholar-Athlete in soccer and track and field this past year, Matteson has been named to the dean’s honor roll every year and is a captain on the Albion SC National Elite team in San Diego.


Sam Walker (D)
Carondelet HS
A First Team All-League defender, Walker helped Carondelet High (Concord, Calif.) capture CIF North Coast Section and East Bay Athletic League championships from 2022-23. While playing for the Mustang Soccer Club, Walker has earned First Team ECNL All-Conference honors twice and has served as a team captain since 2019.
The Danville native played softball her freshman year and plans on attending law school after graduating from Cal Poly. Her father, Kevin, played football at UCLA.
