Shah’s 17 Points Help Mustangs Roll Past Life Pacific Tuesday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Four Mustangs scored in double figures, led by senior guard Annika Shah's 17 points, as Cal Poly women's basketball dominated NAIA foe Life Pacific Tuesday night inside Mott Athletics Center.
In addition to her 17 points, Shah had a season-high seven assists and a career-high four steals. Redshirt sophomore forward Sierra Lichtie scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds. Sophomore forward Mary Carter and freshman guard Ana Moleon Hidalgo each added 10 points.
The Mustangs (3-2) came out of the gates scorching hot, scoring the first 22 points of the game. Cal Poly didn't give up a point to the Warriors until less than a minute left in the first quarter.
Cal Poly's defense forced the Warriors into 41 turnovers which they turned into 44 points as 10 different Mustangs scored in the game. The Mustangs continued to balloon their lead in the second quarter, leading 37-10 at the half.
Cal Poly outscored Life Pacific 27-6 in the third quarter and led by as much as 50 at one point.
The Mustangs will remain at home Saturday as they welcome the University of Idaho into Mott Athletics Center. Tip time is set for 1 p.m.
