Cal Poly Opens Spring Season Monday at Jacksonville’s Sea Best Invite

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Back on the course after a near three-month competitive hiatus and following one of the more notable performances in program history, the Cal Poly men's golf team begins its seven-event spring season at Jacksonville's Jan. 29-30 Sea Best Invitational.
Played on the 6,847-yard, par-72 Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., the Sea Best Invitational consists of 36 holes on Monday, Jan. 29 and a final 18 on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
The Mustangs concluded a four-event fall at their Oct. 30-31 Cal Poly Invitational, firing a three-under par 861 – the 17th best 54-hole total in program history – at The Preserve in Carmel Valley, Calif. Individually, graduate student Ben Quick completed the tournament's final round with a seven-under 65 – the second-lowest, single-round total in Mustang program history.
Following the Sea Best Invitational, Cal Poly's seven-event spring schedule continues at The Prestige, co-hosted by UC Davis and Stanford Feb. 19-21 at PGA West (Greg Norman Course) in La Quinta, Calif.
