Cal Poly Finishes Fourth, Jalufka 10th at Ptarmigan Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — After shooting three under as a team Tuesday, Cal Poly women's golf moved up in the team standings to finish fourth at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic at Ptarmigan Country Club while junior Jensen Jalufka had another strong day to finish tied for 10th individually. Jalufka shot a one under par 71 Tuesday to finish the tournament five under and in a two-way tie for 10th place. For the tournament, Jalufka had rounds of 72, 68, and 71. "Jensen continues to impress," Mustang second-year head coach Courtney Roberts said of Jalufka. "She set a personal-best 18- and 36-hole scoring record this week (68 and 140). She is focusing on the right things while she competes and is getting better everyday. It was a strong showing all the way for around for Cal Poly as all of the four other Mustangs competing finished in the top-34. Junior Kamille Dimayuga placed in a tie for 18th after finishing the tournament even with rounds of 74, 71, and 71. Senior Nicole Neale finished tied for 27th, graduate student transfer Kaylee Sakoda and senior Carissa Wu both placed tied for 34th. "This was a total team effort this week," Roberts said of the team's performance. "We had players really step up and even though we didn't get off to a very good start (Tuesday), we battled back, and I am proud of how our team finished strong." Neale led the tournament in eagles with two while Jalufka was second in pars with 39. The Mustangs placed fourth overall after shooting seven under for the tournament. Colorado State, Colorado, and Long Beach State finished top three. The Mustangs were just three shots back of The Beach. Next up for Cal Poly is the Dale McNamara Invitational in Broken Arrow, Okla. hosted by Tulsa Monday, Oct. 9 and Tuesday, Oct. 10.
