SAN FRANCISCO – Cal Poly senior Joey Zambri and graduate student Ben Quick both finished under par through 36 holes Monday as the Mustang men's golf program finished the first of two days at the USF-Howard Intercollegiate in ninth place.

With players completing rounds No. 1 and 2 on the 7,091-yard, par-72 TPC Harding Park course, Zambri shot an opening-round 73 before finishing the afternoon with a three-under 69 and in 21st place overall at minus-two.

Quick, after firing a 76 in the morning round, countered with a five-under 67 in the afternoon. He enters Tuesday's final round in 26th at one-under.

Graduate Austin Liu (above) sits 36th overall at plus-one following rounds of 73 and 72. Junior Jackson Parrish is 43rd after shooting 74-73 for a total of three-over. Freshman Reese Sato occupies 55th (76-73) at plus-five while freshman Louis Pilod (74-76) is a stroke behind and in 58th place.

As a team, Cal Poly is three-over after carding a combined 297 in the morning and second-round 282.
