SECOND-ROUND RESULTS
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Austin Liu carded a 68 in the second round on Friday at Harding Park, climbing 53 spots up the leaderboard and highlighting Cal Poly's performance at The Goodwin.
Liu, who opened with a 78 Thursday, recorded six birdies, four bogeys and eight pars for his second round in the 60s this season and ninth in his Mustang career. He currently is in 90th place entering Saturday's final round on the 6,939-yard par-70 course.
Baron Szeto, who opened with a 67, followed with a 73 in the second round and remains in the top 25 with one round to play. He is tied with 12 other golfers for 25th place at even par 140 for 36 holes.
Ben Quick also posted a 73 Friday for a 145 total and 78th place while Jackson Parrish added a 72 for a 148 total and 110th place. Joey Zambri rounded out Cal Poly's scoring with a 75 for a 144 total and 65th place.
Competing as an individual, Sean Lehman posted a 72 for a 153 total and 149th place. There are 28 teams and 155 golfers in the field.
Georgia Tech climbed into the top spot on the team leaderboard with a four-person 270 and a 13-under-par 547 aggregate, one stroke ahead of Oklahoma. San Diego is third at 554 while first-round leader Stanford slipped into fourth place at 556 after a 283 total Friday.
A 284 Thursday and 286 Friday left Cal Poly in a tie for 13th place with BYU, both with 570 totals.
Individual co-leaders with 18 holes to play are Ben Lorenz (68-66) of Oklahoma and Bo Peng (66-68) of Washington with six-under-par 134 totals, one shot ahead of Georgia Tech's Ross Steelman (69-66).
Zambri is 11th with 26 pars while Szeto is seventh with eight birdies over 36 holes.
