Three Finish in Top 30 as Cal Poly Places Ninth in Duck Invitational

FINAL RESULTS
EUGENE, Oregon -- Led by a trio of top-30 finishers, the Cal Poly men's golf team finished ninth in the 14-team Oregon Duck Invitational on Tuesday at the Eugene Country Club.
Austin Liu finished in 22nd place while Ben Quick and Joey Zambri shared 29th place with two other golfers in the 54-hole two-day tournament held on the 6,995-yard par-71 layout.
Liu carded a final-round 74 for an eight-over-par 221 total. Both Quick and Zambri posted 10-over-par 223 aggregates as Zambri finished with a 74 and Quick 76.
Rounding out Cal Poly's scoring were Jackson Parrish with a 78 for a 229 total and 55th place and Sean Lehman with a 76 for a 243 total and 81st place.
Nate Stember of Oregon and Mateo Fuenmayor of Oregon State both finished with six-under-par 207 totals and were crowned co-champions. Max Schliesing of UTEP was two strokes back in third place.
Oregon won its own tournament with a two-under-par 850 aggregate, seven shots ahead of Oregon State. Colorado State was third at 869.
Cal Poly posted four-person rounds of 293, 401 and 300 for a 42-over-par 894 total, just 11 strokes shy of third place in the tightly bunched field.
Zambri finished third in par-3 scoring at even par while both Zambri and Liu were fourth in par-5 scoring at four under par. Quick carded an eagle in the second round on the 525-yard, par-5 13th hole.
Cal Poly continues to play on the road this weekend, competing in The Goodwin hosted by Stanford at the Harding Park Golf Club in San Francisco.
