Cal Poly Finishes in 12th Place in Tulane Classic

FINAL RESULTS
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Nicole Neale and Vanessa Wang earned top-40 finishes at the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein, which ended a three-day 54-hole run Tuesday at the English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Neale finished in a tie for 30th place with a final-round 81 for a 232 total while Wang added a 79 for a 233 aggregate and 35th-place tie.
Also competing for Cal Poly were Jensen Jalufka with a 77 for a 236 total and 48th place, Carissa Wu with an 84 for a 239 total and 61st place, and Kamille Dimayuga with an 83 for a 242 total and 75th place.
Cal Poly began the final round in 10th place and finished 12th with a 75-over-par 939 aggregate following a four-person 320 total on the 6,268-yard, par-72 course.
Purdue claimed the team title with an 897 total, four shots ahead of runners-up Incarnate Word and Tulane, both at 901. There were 18 teams in the tournament opening the spring season.
Individual winner was Carla Bernat of Tulane, who jumped from fifth place to the top spot with a final-round 71 for a two-over-par 218 total. Bernat finished three shots ahead of Ashley Kozlowski of Purdue while Leigha Devine of Rutgers and Danielle DuToit of Purdue shared third place at 223.
Cal Poly will compete in the Causeway Invitational hosted by UC Davis on Feb. 27-28 at the Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento.
