Cal Poly Hosts Cal State LA for Thursday Exhibition

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Returning seven letterwinners from last season and welcoming nine newcomers to the lineup, the Cal Poly men's basketball program – four days out from its season opener – hosts Division II Cal State LA for a Thursday, Nov. 2 exhibition matchup.

Tip time from Mott Athletics Center is 7 p.m. for Cal Poly, which then opens its 30th Division I season and 80th year as four-year program when welcoming Division III La Verne – for the first time in 31 years – on Monday, Nov. 6.

Cal Poly has defeated Cal State LA in exhibitions in each of the last two years, prevailing in last season's meeting, 72-60.

Selected eighth in the preseason California Collegiate Athletic Association poll, Cal State LA finished 11-17 last season.

Thursday's exhibition marks the first of 15 home games for Cal Poly, including 14 regular season matchups. Following Monday's season opener against La Verne, Cal Poly next plays at home on Wednesday, Nov. 29 against San Jose State.
