SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly swimming and diving returns to the pool Saturday to host a dual against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival CSU Bakersfield at Anderson Aquatic Center.
When the Mustangs enter the water at noon for Saturday's battle with the Roadrunners, it will be the squad's first action since competing in the UNLV Invitational on Dec. 17-19.
In that meet, the Cal Poly men earned an impressive second place finish. The Mustangs were led by junior Ryan Trichler and freshman Alex Seybold, who earned second and third respectively in the individual standings, and senior Brian Wong, who grabbed second in the 200-yard butterfly on the final day of the invitational.
The Mustang women secured sixth out of 10 teams and were paced by seniors Kaia Anderson, Samantha Rankin and Sophie Jackson, junior Kelly McDermott and sophomore Taylor Lyon.
Saturday will be Cal Poly's fourth dual meet this season and its third of four home events. The Mustangs hosted their annual Queen and King of the Pool pentathlon with Cal to open the season and welcomed the Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team to Anderson Aquatic Center on Oct. 22 for a dual. The program wraps up its 2022-23 home slate when it hosts a Senior Day dual with UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Anderson Aquatic Center.
