FIRST-ROUND RESULTS
TUCSON, Arizona -- Austin Liu and Jackson Parrish enter Tuesday's final round of the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate in the top 40 on the individual leaderboard.
The Cal Poly men's golf duo are tied for 27th and 35th place, respectively, late in the second round of play Monday on the 7,072-yard, par-72 Tucson Country Club course. The round was suspended due to darkness with none of the 84 golfers completing the round.
Liu and Parrish both posted 73s in the opening round -- Liu with two birdies and three bogeys and Parrish carding five birdies, four bogeys and one double-bogey.
Ben Quick was tied for 48th place while Baron Szeto and Sean Lehman both were tied for 75th place late in the second round of play.
As a team, Cal Poly is 10th through 16 holes of play at two over par. Texas A&M leads at 26 under par, followed by Arizona at 22 under par and both Cal and BYU at 15 under par. There are 15 teams competing in the two-day 54-hole event.
Four golfers were tied atop the leaderboard at 10 under par when play was suspended.
Completion of the second round was to begin at 9 a.m. with the final round to follow.
