SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly swimming and diving program caps off its regular season schedule Saturday with a Senior Day dual against UC Santa Cruz at Anderson Aquatic Center.
The Mustangs' fourth and final home meet of the season is scheduled to start at noon.
Cal Poly will honor 10 seniors during the dual — Kaia Anderson, Amy Harter, Ryan Iannaccone, Sophie Jackson, Caroline Judson (pictured above), Erin Kim, Max Powell, Samantha Rankin, Jacqueline Samaniego and Brian Wong.
The Mustang women are fresh off duals at MPSF rivals Pacific and UC Davis this past weekend. Anderson (400 IM & 500 free) Harter (50 free), freshman Kiersten Weiler (100 back) secured individual victories across the two duals, while Harter and Weiler also teamed up with Kim and freshman Melia Costa to lead Cal Poly to a win in the 200 medley relay against Pacific. The Mustangs also beat UC Davis in the 200 free relay.
In a dual against Pacific this past Saturday, Wong set the tone for the men's team capturing first in the 200 butterfly and swimming a lifetime-best leadoff time of 47.72 seconds to help Cal Poly take down the Tigers in the 400 free relay. Iannaccone and freshmen Andrew Sullivan and Jonathan Butler were also on the relay.
After Saturday's home dual, the Mustangs will focus all their attention on preparing for the conference championships, which are less than four weeks away. The MPSF Swimming Championships will be contested Feb. 15-18 at Utah Tech's Human Performance Center, while the MPSF Diving Championships are scheduled for Feb. 16-18 at Marguerite Aquatics Complex in Mission Viejo, Calif.
