Cal Poly Wraps Up Competition at Bruin Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Cal Poly diving program wrapped up competition at the Bruin Diving Invitational on Sunday.

Five Mustangs took part in the three-day meet and battled some stiff opposition. Senior Max Powell's (pictured above) 21st-place finish in prelims of the men's 3-meter dive (272.40) highlighted Cal Poly's performance at the event.

Powell also earned 30th in the 1-meter dive prelims. Freshman Lyndon Kov took 37th in both events.

On the women's side, senior Jacqueline Samaniego, sophomore KellyAnn Lim and freshman Myl Lauc all hit the diving board for the Mustangs. Samaniego led the way, placing 47th in the 1-meter dive and 49th in the 3-meter.

Cal Poly returns home to host a Senior Day dual with UC Santa Cruz on Saturday at noon. It will be the Mustangs' final action before the conference championships on Feb. 15-18.
