COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Jackson Parrish, Joey Zambri and Austin Liu all equalled or exceeded par during the final round of the fall-opening Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational hosted by Air Force Academy on Sunday.
The trio helped the Cal Poly men's golf team jump from 16th place to 12th in the 24-team field.
Parrish shot a final-round 70 to leap from 55th place after Friday's 75 to 37th place following Saturday's 72 and 28th place after 54 holes of play. Parrish made six birdies and four bogeys Sunday.
Zambri, who posted a 74 and 76 in the first two rounds, added a 71 Sunday and jumped 20 spots to 39th place on the final leaderboard. Zambri's round featured two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars.
Liu went from a 78 to a 76 and Sunday's 72, finishing 71st with a 220 total on the 7,541-yard par-72 Eisenhower Golf Club's Blue Course layout.
Cal Poly, which posted a four-person 296 and 297 on the first two days of the event, finished with a two-under-par 286 aggregate Sunday for a 15-over-par 879 total.
Colorado State claimed the team title with a 30-under-par 834 total, 25 shots ahead of runner-up Colorado. San Jose State and New Mexico State shared third place, another two shots back of the Rams.
Cal Poly's Ben Quick carded a final-round 73 for a 222 total and 45th place while Baron Szeto fired a final-round 74 for a 76 and 224 total and 54th place.
Individual winner was Connor Jones of Colorado State with rounds of 68, 69 and 66 for a 13-under-par 203 total, one stroke ahead of teammate Davis Bryant (67-68-69--204). Garrison Smith (207) and Aidan Thomas (208), both of New Mexico State, were third and fourth, respectively.
Jackson finished seventh in par-4 scoring at three under par while Zambri's 41 pars were tied for No. 1 with Weber State's Brendan Thomas.
Zambri and Szeto both carded eagles in the tournament -- Zambri on Friday at the 568-yard 11th hole and Szeto on Saturday at the 409-yard fourth hole.
In the companion tournament for individuals on the Blue Course, Cal Poly's Luke Adam finished with a round of 70 for a 217 total and 13th-place tie while Parker Mapes checked in with a 73 for a 221 total and 25th place. Riss Laird posted a 78 for a 235 total and 42nd place. Davis Heslington of Utah Tewch was medalist with an 11-under-par 205 aggregate.
