Cal Poly Men Remain in Third at Trailblazer Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah — The Cal Poly swimming and diving program had several standout performances on the second day of the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational on Friday.
Freshman Drew Huston led the way with a fifth-place finish in the men's 100-yard backstroke, swimming a personal-best time of 50.25 seconds.
Junior Ryan Trichler (pictured above), who transferred from Ohio State over the summer, secured sixth in the 400 individual medley. Junior Sean Keegan grabbed eighth in the 100 backstroke and ninth in the 400 IM.
Senior Brian Wong also earned seventh in the 100 butterfly and 10th in the 100 back as the Cal Poly men remained in third in the team standings behind UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.
On the women's side, senior Kaia Anderson had a strong showing for the Mustangs, placing 11th in the 400 IM with a personal-best time of 4:29.78.
The Cal Poly women are in 10th place as a team.
The Mustangs wrap up the three-day invitational Saturday, with action starting at 9 a.m. PST.
