SAN LUIS OBISPO – In its final public tuneup ahead of the 2021 regular season, the Cal Poly women's soccer team's Saturday evening Green versus White intrasquad match finished in a scoreless draw.
With Cal Poly's lineup halved for the match, White squad freshman forward Emily Nedom enjoyed a 67th-minute opportunity to produce the breakthrough goal, but her attempt over Green junior goalkeeper Ava Dorvillier thumped off the crossbar.
In the 79th minute, Green sophomore forward Nikki Trucco dragged an attempt past the left post.
One minute later, a potential Green game-winning goal was whistled offside.
Cal Poly had defeated NAIA Westmont (Aug. 7) and Fresno State (Aug. 11) in previous exhibitions.
Cal Poly opens the 2021 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 19 when hosting No. 24 and 2019 NCAA Tournament champion Stanford at 7 p.m.
