Last week, Lee went 14-for-24 (.583) at the plate with three doubles and a pair of home runs. Included in the totals was a 5-for-5 performance against Harwich on July 27 as Lee belted two singles, a pair of doubles and a home run.
Lee's season ended Tuesday night -- Wednesday's game was rained out -- with a .405 batting average, including four doubles, six home runs and 13 RBIs in 21 games.
An eight-game hitting streak was snapped on the final day of the season, a streak in which Lee went 18-for-35 (.514) with four doubles, three home runs and six RBIs.
Lee didn't qualify for the league's batting title as he fell short of 2.7 plate appearances per team games played, as he stepped away from Yarmouth-Dennis to participate in the Collegiate National Team's tryouts in Cary, N.C.
The Cape's winner of the batting title hit .344, 61 points less than Lee's average. Even with the fewer number of games played in the Cape -- Lee played in 21 games for Yarmouth-Dennis while other players in the league competed in as many as 37 games -- Lee was tied for sixth in home runs with six and tied for 10th in hits with 34.
Lee has drawn the attention of former ESPN analyst and current MLB Network on-air and MLB.com online analyst Peter Gammons.
"The Cape League endured a trying summer, between showcase tryouts, Team USA, no makeup games," wrote Gammons on his Twitter page, "so when SH SS Brooks Lee of San Luis Obispo (hit) .405 and fell 16 PAs short of qualifying, to me he's the first player to hit .400 since Matt Murton.
"Lee has a remarkable baseball IQ, 6-2 and a left-handed swing with big power," Gammons added. "Father (is) Cal Poly coach, baseball family, reliability obvious."
Murton hit exactly .400 for Wareham in 2002.
Lee played 11 games during Team USA's intrasquad series in late June and early July, hitting .306 with 11 hits in 36 at-bats, including two doubles, a home run, four RBIs and a pair of steals. He also competed in a three-game series versus the U.S. Olympic Team on July 13-15, going 3-for-10 with a home run and one RBI.
Last summer, Lee, who will be a junior at Cal Poly in the spring of 2022, hit .345 with the Willmar Stingers in the Northwoods League. Lee's 51 hits were the second-highest total in the league and his .345 mark was No. 7. He was fourth with 35 RBIs and produced hits in 33 of his 36 contests, including multiple-hit games in eight of his last 11 starts.
The San Luis Obispo High School graduate opened his Stingers season with a 19-game hitting streak and had another streak of nine games snapped late in the season. He put together a string of four two-hit games from August 9-11 and finished the year with seven doubles and four home runs in 36 games, including 14 multiple-hit contests.
Right-hander Drew Thorpe was 1-1 with a 12.38 ERA and 11 strikeouts over eight innings for Team USA. His victory was an 11-4 decision over the Stars in the final game of an 11-game intrasquad series and he has been shut down for the rest of the summer.
Thorpe made two starts on the Cape and had no decisions and an 0.90 ERA with nine strikeouts over 10 innings, also for Yarmouth-Dennis.
Meanwhile, six Mustangs are still playing in the West Coast League while two other Mustangs are with Northwoods League teams.

On the mound, Kaden Sheedy made three starts and was 1-2 with a 4.62 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings. He notched eight strikeouts in a 9-1 win over the Coastal Cubs on June 22 as he allowed one run and one hit over four innings.

The Big Sticks have qualified for the Expedition League playoffs, which begin Monday.
Stafford hit a grand slam on June 25 in an 11-6 win over the Mining City Tommyknockers and was hitting .321 after his fourth three-hit game of the season July 22 at Wheat City.
"(Stafford) is a workhorse, he has done a great job," head coach Billy Tomblin said. "The kid is a competitor, works hard, and shows up every day. I love coaching him and I love him being part of this program."
Infielder Matthias Haas, also an incoming freshman, is hitting .255 for the North Shore Navigators in Lynn, Mass. Haas has two doubles, one triple, one home run and 14 RBIs in 19 games with seven multiple-hit contests and three steals for the New England Collegiate Baseball League team.
