McKinley Highlights Cal Poly Diving At First Day of MPSF Championships

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Senior men's diver Noah McKinley (pictured) finished eighth in the men's one-meter dive Tuesday to lead the way for Cal Poly at the first day of the MPSF Championships at Anderson Aquatic Center.
McKinley was the lone Cal Poly diver to qualify for the finals after a preliminary dive score of 236.45 to make it to the finals.
In the finals, McKinley improved his score to 239.30 to finish in eighth place in the event.
The men's one-meter dive was won by Mason Williams from the University of Hawai'i with a score of 316.50.
On the women's side in the three-meter dive, Hawai'i's Daphne Wils won the event with a final dive score of 338.25. No Cal Poly diver qualified for the finals in the event.
The MPSF Championships continue Wednesday with the final day of diving in the morning and swimming kicking off in the afternoon with the 200 medley relays and 800 free relays.
