EWA BEACH, Oahu, Hawai'i -- With rounds of 70 and 74 on Monday, Will Draper is tied for 14th place heading into the final round of the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational.
Draper has an even-par 144 total for 36 holes of play on the 7,444-yard, par-72 course. In his morning round of 70, Draper carded eight birdies, two bogeys and a pair of double-bogeys. His afternoon round featured three birdies, one bogey and a pair of double-bogeys.
As a team, Coach Phil Rowe's Mustangs are in 12th place with 18 more holes to play Tuesday morning. Cal Poly carded a four-person 301 total in the first round and 296 in the second round for a 21-over-par 597 aggregate.
Louisiana leads the 15-team field with a nine-under-par 567 total, followed by Loyola Marymount at 569 and San Diego at 575.
Tony Hendricks of Loyola Marymount carries a three-stroke lead into the final round after recording a 65 and 70 for a nine-under-par 135 total. Garrett Boe (67-71) of Cal State Fullerton is second while Cal Poly's Luke Adam (70-69), competing as an individual, and Charlie Reiter (70-69) of San Diego share third at 139.
Adam posted 10 birdies and five bogeys over 36 holes Monday.
Cal Poly's other scoring golfers were Joey Zambri with a 77 and 73 for 150 and 40th place, Baron Szeto with a 78 and 73 for 151 and 47th place, Austin Liu with a 78 and 76 for 154 and 60th place, and Drew Kim with a 76 and 81 for 157 and 71st place.
