Cal Poly Finishes Fifth in Red Rocks Invitational

SEDONA, Ariz. – A round of 73 by Taylor Yoshitake helped the Cal Poly women's golf team to a fifth-place finish among 18 schools competing in the Red Rocks Invitational on Sunday at the Oak Creek Country Club.
Yoshitake (pictured at right) finished with a 36-hole five-over-par 149 total and a tie for ninth place. Teammate Madison Hirsch finished tied for 14th place with a final-round 74 and a 150 total while Morgan Thomas placed 21st with a 77 for a 153 total.
Rounding out Cal Poly's scoring were Jamie Corr and Asia Adell, both finishing in a tie for 63rd place. Corr had a final-round 84 for a 163 total while Adell finished with an 82.
Competing as an individual, Alex Phillips placed 28th with a final-round 74 for a 155 total.
Cal Poly followed Saturday's four-person 307 total with a 306 Sunday for a 37-over-par 613 total. Xavier won with a 12-over-par 588 total while Sacramento State and Northern Arizona shared second place at 602.
Cal Poly returns to action March 24-26 at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on The Bay Course in Kapalua, Hawaii.
