
Men's Tennis Dominate Radford in Non-Conference Match, 5-2

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Cal Poly men's tennis team continued its winning ways after a 5-2 win over Radford in a non-conference win on Wednesday at the Mustang Courts.
With the win the Mustangs improve to 5-8 overall while Radford falls to 1-5.
The Mustangs opened doubles play in dominating fashion when freshman Ben Donovan and senior Jurgen De Jager made quick work of Joe Mills and Javier Waase, 8-2, on the third court. Devin Barber and Corey Pang were not far behind with an 8-5 win on the second court over Janken Thoen and Nico Ascarrunz on the second court. The match on the first court went unfinished with the doubles point decided.
With the doubles point decided, Cal Poly's No. 2 player, freshman Donovan put the Mustangs up 2-0 with a dominating, 6-3 and 6-1, win.
Radford followed up with a win on the first court with a 6-3 and 7-6 win with Sayer defeating Comuzzo, 6-3, 7-6, on the first court.
Cal Poly retook the lead when Corey Pang defeated Nico Ascarrunz on the third court, 6-4 and 6-3. That was followed by the clinching win on the sixth court when Gannon Daynes took care of Thone in straight sets. Daynes won 6-3 and 6-3 to secure the win.
De Jager won on the forth court with a 7-6 (7-4), and 6-1, for the Mustangs final point while Mills defeated Naveen Beasley on the fifth court.
