RIVERSIDE, Calif.- The Cal Poly women's soccer team came into the match undefeated in conference play against UC Riverside that has yet to win a conference game. While the Mustangs didn't get the win in Friday night's play, they tied the Highlanders 1-1 in double overtime.
UC Riverside would strike in just the second minute of the game when there was a scramble in the box and Kaitlin Anzalone was able to find the net from 7 yards out on the right side.
The Mustangs would get their chance and even the score in the 14th minute when Sara Lancaster (pictured at right) was able to beat the goalie off a great assist from Haley Walker.
Cal Poly would take 27 shots to UC Riverside's 19, but UC Riverside Goalkeeper Jessica White made 16 saves on the night.
The Mustangs next face Cal State Fullerton on Sunday at 1 pm. Fullerton and UC Riverside faced each other last weekend with Fullerton getting the 1-0 win.
