
Cal Poly Volleyball Swept by Pacific, 3-0

STOCKTON. Calif. -- The Cal Poly volleyball team was swept in a Big West Conference match on Friday by Pacific in three sets on Friday in Stockton. With the loss the Mustangs fall to 0-6 in Big West Conference matches and 1-17 overall while the Tigers improve to 4-2 in the BWC and 16-3 overall.
Set scores win the win for Pacific went 25-12, 25-14 and 25-12.
The Mustangs return to the court on Saturday when the team travels to UC Davis for a Big West Conference match at 7 pm.
Cal poly was led by senior Molly Pon and junior Chelsea Hardin with six kills each. Junior Holly Franks added five kills with junior Marianne Gera chipping in with four.
Pacific was led by Kat Schulz with 12 kills while Megan Birch and Gabbby Cowden each added 10.
Pacific outhit the Mustangs .404 to .057 recording 43 kills compared to the Mustangs 25 and held a 46-33 advantage in digs with Steffi Sooter leading Cal Poly with six. Pacific held a 6-2 advantage in service aces and had a 9-2 lead in blocks.
Pacific won the first set, 25-12, behind a dominating .324 to .000 advantage in hitting. The Tigers kept up the pressure in the second set hitting .444 compared to the Mustangs' .214. In the third set Pacific kept the pressure on hitting .464 while limiting Cal Poly to a .000 hitting percentage.
