
Cal Poly Swim/Dive Teams Fall to Denver in Men's and Women's Duals

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Konrad Antoniuk won three events on the men's side while Lacey Buck, Gloria Benefield and Angie Haven were double-event winners on the women's side, but Cal Poly dropped men's and women's dual swim meets to Denver on Saturday at the Anderson Aquatic Center.
The visiting Pioneers won the men's meet 171-129 and took the women's dual 175-112.
Antoniuk (pictured at right) touched the wall first in the 1,000 freestyle (9:34.39), 500 freestyle (4:36.75) and 200 individual medley (1:57.57) for coach Tom Milich's Mustangs.
Other men's event winners were Christian Renfro in the 200 freestyle (1:41.43) and Elliott Adams in three-meter diving (297.60)
Cal Poly also won the 200 freestyle relay as Omar Dwidar, Jesse McWhirk, Matt Jude and Renfro combined for a time of 1:26.64.
On the women's side, Buck won the 1,000 freestyle (10:11.67) and 500 freestyle (4:59.14) while Benefield claimed the 100 backstroke (56.88) and 200 backstroke (2:00.68). Haven captured the 100 breaststroke (1:05.58) and 200 breaststroke (2:19.43).
Other women's event winners were Amy Morales in the 50 freestyle (24.52) and Meaghan O'Meara in one-meter diving (268.87).
Cal Poly will host UC Santa Barbara for another dual meet next Saturday at the Anderson Aquatic Center.
