
Mustangs Win Second in a Row, Defeat SJSU 73-64

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Kayla Griffin scored the games first points and the Mustangs never looked back jumping to a 8-0 lead and on their way to a 73-64 win over San Jose State in a non-conference women's basketball game on Saturday in San Jose.
In the win for the Mustangs (4-5), senior Rachel Clancy scored a career-high 26 points while Abby Bloetscher added 12 and Caroline Reeves 10.
Ashlee Burns came off the bench to score eight points with Griffin adding six.
San Jose State (0-10) was led by AJ Newton off the bench with 19 points with Brittany Johnson and Sara Plavljanin adding 16 and 15 points respectively.
Cal Poly shot 42 percent from the floor and grabbed 42 rebounds led by Bloetscher and Clancy with nine rebounds each.
The Spartans shot 40 percent from the floor and corralled 26 rebounds.
The Mustangs made eight of 19 from long range while SJSU was eight of 22.
Cal Poly committed one less turnover, 19-20, then San Jose.
The Mustangs remain on the road when they travel to Pepperdine for a non-conference game on Monday.
