2010-11 – Competed in seven open tournaments as a true freshman and compiled 16-9 record at 285 pounds … placed first in Utah Valley Open, second in Menlo Open, third in California Collegiate Invitational and fourth in Fullerton Open … four of his pins were by fall, all in the first period of his matches.
High School -- Meulman was runner-up at heavyweight in 2010 and at 215 pounds in 2009 in the California State High School Championships after a seventh-place finish as a sophomore in 2008 … also finished fourth in the NHSCA Junior Championships … three-time CIF-Central Coast Section champion and placed fourth as a freshman at St. Francis High School in Mountain View … first West Coast Athletic League wrestler to place in state finals three times … holds school records for most wins and falls in a season and career ... also a center on the St. Francis High football team as well, leading Lancers to second-place CIF-Central Coast Section finish … earned all-league and all-section honors in football … was ranked No. 11 in his weight class by Wrestling USA and No. 12 by WIN Magazine and was 93rd on the list of top 100 recruits by InterMat … also visited Navy, Virginia and Maryland before choosing Cal Poly.
