Earned AVCA All-Region honorable mention ... one of three Mustangs to be named to Big West Women’s Volleyball All-Conference First Team ... one of 12 players in the nation to be selected to play on the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team Thailand Tour ... led Cal Poly and Big West Conference in assists with 1,192 overall, while setting her career high against CSUN with 65 (Oct. 1) ... finished sixth in the NCAA’s top 10 with 11.64 assists per set ... recorded 12 double-doubles ... recorded a career high of 19 digs against Western Kentucky (Sept. 2).
2015 (Sophomore)
One of four players to earn All-Big West Conference First Team praise after a 1,053-assist, 303-dig season that catapulted her into the program's all-time assist record book ... combined with 880 assists during her freshman season, moved into No. 7 in Cal Poly history with 1,933 assists, passing Dede Bodnar (1982-85) ... her 622 assists and 10.72 assists per set during conference action were second among all Big West players ... established a new single-game career-high with 61 assists during a five-set win over UC Irvine on Nov. 6 ... led all Cal Poly players with 17 assist-dig double doubles ... tallied 13 matches with at least 40 assists ... 1,053 assists were the most by a Mustang during a single season since Sarah Cawrse in 2010 ... delivered at least two service aces in 10 matches, including a season-high four twice ... her 303 digs were second among all Cal Poly players ... assisted the program to its best single-season turnaround since 2009-10 ... also helped lead the Mustangs to their first 19-win season and third-place conference finish since 2010.
2014 (Freshman)
One of only four players to participate in all 101 sets during initial collegiate season… led team with 880 assists … recorded a team-high 14 doubles-doubles … second on team with 232 digs … ranked No. 5 among all Big West Conference players with 9.84 assists per set … finished with 135 kills, which was fourth-highest on team … registered a career-high 18 digs with 36 assists during final match of season versus UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 26) … tallied a career-high 58 assists against UC Santa Barbara (Sep. 27) … produced a triple-double with 15 kills, 21 assists and 11 digs versus Santa Clara (Sep. 20) … recorded at least 30 assists in a match 16 times … had at least 10 digs in 11 matches, including 16 at UC Riverside (Oct. 30) and 15 versus Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 8) … registered a career-high 18 kills versus Northern Illinois (Sep. 19).
Granite Bay HS (Granite Bay, Calif.)
As a senior in 2013, named PrepVolleyball.com’s National Player of the Year, a USA Today All-America selection, the Gatorade California Player of the Year, MaxPreps.com’s California Player of the Year and Sierra Foothill League Most Valuable Player after totaling 996 assists, 135 digs, 90 aces and 61 blocks for a Grizzlies program that finished 45-0 and defeated Los Alamitos HS for the California Interscholastic Federation Division I state championship … totaled 46 assists in 3-1 state title victory … member of PrepVolleyball.com’s 23rd-ranked Recruiting Class for 2014 … while competing for Northern California Volleyball Club, helped program to a fifth-place finish in the 18s Open Division at the 2013 Junior Olympics and a second-place finish in 2012 in the 16s National Division.

Daughter of Rich and Vera Nelson, both Cal Poly graduates … has one sister, Lindsay (21), and one brother, Darren (16) … majoring in kinesiology with career ambitions of becoming a physical therapist … Taylor K. Nelson was born on March 3, 1996 in Granite Bay, Calif.
