Former Mustang and Big West champion Molly Ross joined the Cal Poly track and field coaching staff in 2022-23 as a volunteer assistant, specializing in hurdles.
Ross, a member of the Cal Poly track team from 2017-21, is the school record holder in the 60-meter hurdles.
At the 2021 Big West Championships, Ross captured an individual title in the 100 hurdles, placed second in the 400 hurdles and helped Cal Poly’s 4x400 and 4x100 relay teams finish first and third respectively. Her efforts allowed the Mustang women to secure their first Big West track and field title in program history.
Ross currently owns the third-fastest 100 hurdles time (13.55) in program history and eighth-fastest 400 hurdles time (1:00.31).
Ross is also the last Mustang from the sprints, jumps or hurdles group to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries, punching her ticket to the postseason in 2021 in the 100 hurdles.
Ross graduated from Cal Poly in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and is currently an orthopedic medical device representative.
