- Title:
- Diving Coach
Staley Pearl was hired as the Cal Poly diving coach in December of 2019 and is in her third season.
In her second season in 2020-21, she saw Joelle Weltner set the new school record in the women's 1-meter dive and men's diver Noah McKinley earn Second Team All-MPSF honors.
In her first season in 2019-20, the Mustangs sent divers to the Zone E Diving Championships for the first time in over a decade and had multiple divers crack the top five of school records.
Prior to becoming the head diving coach, Pearl spent eight years with Cal Poly's ASI, serving as the Coordinator of Aquatics and Safety before being promoted to assistant director of fitness and wellness.
Pearl dove collegiately at the University of Tennessee for four years, qualifying for zones during that time. There, she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees and worked as a graduate assistant in aquatics programming for the university.
Pearl has coached at swimming and diving camps at both the University of Tennessee and Carnegie Mellon University.
When she is not coaching, she enjoys spending time with her kids, dogs, husband, and doing all things aerial.
