In her first year coaching at Cal Poly, Erica Stricker helped two divers advance to the NCAA Zone E Championships.
Sami McIntyre and Meaghan O'Meara represented the Mustangs at the Air Force Academy's Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs, as the duo of seniors competed in both the 1-meter and 3-meter.
Then in 2014-15, Stricker mentored true freshman Lauren Pierce on her way to advancing into the 1-m finals at the prestigious Bruin Invitational hosted by UCLA, joining McIntyre and O'Meara with one of the five best scores in program history.
Prior to coming to Cal Poly, Stricker spent two years coaching for the Dos Rios Divers club in Folsom, where she guided two students who went on to compete at the Division I level.
During her collegiate career at UC Davis, Stricker also coached for the Blue Diamond Divers club and gained experience instructing at a camp held by former longtime Aggies coach Karla Helder in Buffalo, N.Y.
Starting as a walk-on for the Aggies, Stricker earned a scholarship with the program as a senior.
Continuing her accomplishments during her final season at UC Davis, Stricker set a low-board school record (at 265.80) and qualified for the Zone Championships. As a junior, she finished third on both the 1-m and 3-m boards at the Big West Conference Championships.
Stricker graduated with a degree in exercise biology in 2011 as part of the school's first class of Division I student-athletes.
A Redding native and 2007 graduate of Anderson Union High School, Stricker also worked for Burger Physical Therapy while in Folsom.
