2008-09 -- Competed in four tournaments as a true freshman and averaged 76.5 strokes over 11 rounds ... best finish was a tie for eighth place in the Coast BMW Intercollegiate with rounds of 68, 75 and 74 for a 217 total as an individual ... that 68 was his first-ever collegiate round.
High School -- A 2008 graduate of North Allegheny High School in Wexford, PA, just outside Pittsburgh ... lettered three times in both varsity golf and varsity bowling ... averaged 35.0 strokes (nine holes) as a senior, 36.2 as a junior and 37.5 as a sophomore ... once carded a 31 in a nine-hole tournament ... was medalist in the Peters Township Invitational ... North Allegheny's combined win-loss record in Martens' three seasons was 32-4.
