2022-23 -- Cross Country: Earned Big West Women's Freshman of the Year honors after placing 14th at the conference championships to propel the Mustang women to their first Big West title since 2018 and eighth overall ... ran a personal-best 5K time (17:30.3) to capture 13th in the Joe Piane Invitational Gold race ... was Cal Poly's third finisher at the NCAA West Regional meet, grabbing 72nd with a personal-best 6K time (20:35.2). Indoor: Competed in three meets, running fifth-fastest indoor 3,000 time (9:40.15) at Husky Classic ... posted PR of 4:49.65 in mile. Outdoor: Finished second in the 1,500 at the Big West Championships to earn All-Big West honors ... also took 15th in 5,000 ... ran PR in 1,500 (4:24.72) to place first at Conover Classic ... posted PR in 5,000 (16:41.58) at Bryan Clay Invitational.

Personal -- Born in Sacramento, CA … daughter of Armando and Christine Cornejo … majoring in business … ran track since age 6 and cross country since age 12 … also visited San Diego State, but chose Cal Poly because of the quality of the team and school … Daphne Witherell, one of her past teammates, has had the biggest impact on her athletic career because “she is a very determined young lady who always finds a way around the hardest parts in her life. She is always pushing herself to be the best she can be and to make herself better. She is also such a caring person for the people around her and trying to do the best for those people she really cares for.
