2019-20 -- Cross Country and Indoor T&F: Redshirted her first year with Cal Poly. Outdoor Track: Spring 2020 season was canceled; however, retains year of eligibility moving forward ... meanwhile, earned Conference Commissioner’s Honors academically.
Prep -- Won a combined three state championships her final year at Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming ... first in cross country, won the 2018 WHSAA 4A state title with a 5K performance of 18:35.2 at VA Hospital Grounds in Sheridan ... then in the 2019 track season, added the 3,200m Wyoming 4A state championship in 11:14.45 ... her 1,600m best of 5:00.65 claimed fourth at the 2019 Arcadia Invitational en route to the 4A title ... was the 2018 East Conference cross country champion; also posted an effort of 18:16.0 at Thornton Rec. Center in Colorado in 2018, good for third place at the Thornton Invite ... added a 12th-place performance at the 2018 Nike Northwest Cross Regional, via 18:09 ... also contributed to a state record-setting 4x800m relay squad in 2018, recording a 9:29.58 ... was also a 2018 AP Scholar with Distinction, in addition to participating in the 2019 We the People government competition (finishing as state runner-ups), Student Senate (as 2019 Senior Class President) and Psychology Club (which she co-founded).
Personal -- Majoring in biomedical engineering ... her brother Elliott was also a collegiate runner, competing at Alabama from 2016-20 ... also visited Wyoming and Northeastern; chose Cal Poly “because I believe in the ‘learn by doing’ philosophy and felt that the campus culture would fit me with the academic drive that I saw in all students. Everyone at Cal Poly is following their passion somehow, either through classes or clubs and I wanted to be a part of that energy,” adding, “I also felt comfortable with the coaching staff and the team and was given an incredible scholarship opportunity” ... in high school, was also a three-time all-state orchestra member while serving as the principal viola ... explains her career goal is “to use my curiosity to improve the lives of others,” adding, “I love biology and I want to do good in the world, so medicine was an obvious choice. If I can use my natural drive and curiosity to create technology that will improve people’s lives, then I will be incredibly happy. I may end up doing cancer research or tissue regeneration or vaccinations.”
