
Cal Poly Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly cross country program recently announced its 2026 schedule.
The Mustangs — who have won four consecutive Big West men’s and women’s team championships — open a new season and a new era under Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jake Stewart and Head Cross Country Coach Delaney Rasmussen on Thursday, Sept. 3 when they compete in the Gaucho Twilight hosted by UC Santa Barbara.
It's the second straight season Cal Poly will open the year in Lompoc at the Mission Club Golf Course.
On Sept. 25, the Mustangs travel to Chicago for the third consecutive year to take part in the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola University Chicago. Three weeks later, the team returns to action for its final action of the regular season, splitting the squad between the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M on Oct. 16 and the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara on Oct. 17.
The 2026 Big West Championships are set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 31 at UC Riverside’s Ag/Ops Course.
The NCAA West Regional meet is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, and the NCAA Cross Country Championships are slated for Saturday, Nov. 21, at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at Terre Haute, Indiana.
