
No. 3 Mustangs Win All Three at Day One of Big West Challenge

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Cal Poly beach volleyball team kept its winning ways going Saturday, winning all three of its matches at the first day of the Big West Challenge Friday in Long Beach.
The No. 3 Mustangs swept UC Davis and CSUN by scores of 5-0 and took down No. 13 Hawai’i 4-1 to extend their win streak to 12 straight matches.
Cal Poly’s top four pairs: Ella Connor/Erin Inskeep, Logan Walter/Izzy Martinez, Quinn Perry/Ashleigh Adams, and Julia Westby/Elise Lenahan all went 3-0 each on the day.
Connor and Inskeep improved to 18-1 on the season. Connor now sits at 98 career wins. Walter and Martinez also moved their record this year to 18-1. Walter also surpassed 75 career wins after the first victory Friday.
Perry and Adams stayed perfect together at 13-0. Westby and Lenahan also remained perfect as a duo at 12-0.
Cal Poly continues play at the Big West Challenge Sunday with three more matches. The Mustangs will face Cal State Bakersfield at 8 a.m., No. 11 Long Beach State at 11:30 a.m., and Sacramento State at 3 p.m.
