
No. 4 Mustangs Open at Home with Pair of Sweeps Over Ranked Teams

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly beach volleyball got its first taste of action at home Friday and made the most of it, sweeping both No. 19 Arizona and No. 17 Grand Canyon.
The No. 4 Mustangs started the day by taking the No. 19 Wildcats 5-0 before doing the same to the No. 19 Lopes in the evening match to move to 12-2 on the season and push their win streak to seven in a row. 11 of Cal Poly’s 12 wins have now come in sweep fashion.
Cal Poly used the same lineup in both matches as all five pairs went 2-0 on the day. the No. 1 duo of Ella Connor and Erin Inskeep as well as the No. 2 duo of Logan Walter and Izzy Martinez each moved to 13-1 records on the season.
Quinn Perry and Ashleigh Adams maintained their perfect record together at the No. 3 spot, moving to 8-0 this season. Also staying perfect were the No. 4 pair of Elise Lenahan and Julia Westby at 7-0 as well as the No. 5 duo of Hannah Byers and Maddy Byrne, also at 7-0.
Cal Poly continues wraps up the weekend at home Saturday with two more matches. The Mustangs face Oregon at 11:30 a.m. and Santa Clara at 3:15 p.m.
