
Wang Leads Cal Poly on Final Day of Trinity Forest Invite

DALLAS – Carding five birdies during Tuesday’s final round at SMU’s Trinity Forest Invitational, freshman Zihao Wang was the Cal Poly men’s golf program’s top finisher with a 40th-place effort.
At the 7,617-yard, par-72 Trinity Forest Golf Club, Wang’s final-round 71 completed a three-day, one-over 217 (72-74-71) to climb seven spots on the leaderboard Tuesday.
Junior Louis Pilod and sophomore Nolan Kuszyk (above) shared 55th with six-over 222s. Pilod (76-69-77) closed with a pair of birdies Tuesday while Kuszyk (78-72-72) was Cal Poly’s top mover during the final round, improving 13 spots with three birdies.
Freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret, meanwhile, finished 67th with a nine-over 225 (74-74-77) while junior Reese Sato – with three birdies Tuesday – posted a 10-over 226 (79-70-77).
As a team, Cal Poly climbed one spot on the final team leaderboard to 15th with a 23-over 882 (300-285-297).
Cal Poly resumes action at the Saint Mary’s Invitational, scheduled for Oct. 20-22 at Bayonet & Black Horse GC in Seaside, Calif.
