SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Continuing with his stellar first year as a Mustang, Evan Yoo added another weekly honor to his resume after last weekend's dual-meet sweep over UC Santa Cruz.
Of the 12 total dual-meet races he participated in this season (UCSB/CSUB/UCSC), Yoo has taken first in 10 of them and only lost one individual race.
Yoo is currently on an eight-race streak of wins, going unbeaten in every race of the last two dual meets against Cal State Bakersfield and UC Santa Cruz.
During a 235-63 team victory over the Banana Slugs, Yoo helped take the two relays but also individually won the 1000 Free (9:30.16) and 100 Fly (49.33), collecting the most total victories on the day with four.
The junior transfer from Redondo Beach, Calif. already owns program records in the 200 Breast and 200 IM while also the second leg of teams that hold all-time marks in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays.
His best 200 Breast time of the season (1:54.10) set during the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational was an NCAA B-Cut qualifying time and currently tied for 31st in NCAA Division I, making him potentially still in-range for an NCAA Championships appearance.
