SAN LUIS OBISPO – With junior Baron Szeto named to the All-Big West second team, three Cal Poly men's golfers earned all-conference praise Tuesday for their standout performances during the 2023-24 season.
Sharing fourth place at April's Big West Championship with Szeto, senior Joey Zambri earned All-Big West honorable mention recognition alongside Mustang graduate student Ben Quick.
Szeto, who split the 2023 Big West Championship title before finishing fourth this year, led Cal Poly during the 2023-24 season with two top-10 showings, eight rounds in the 60s and a 72.9 stroke average. He also played a further 10 rounds under par.
Zambri, who finished under par during all three rounds at the Big West Championship, topped Cal Poly this past season with 12 total rounds under par. He enjoyed three top-20 showings while finishing second in the lineup with a 73.0 stroke average.
Quick recorded a program leading four top-20 finishes while producing 10 rounds under par, seven rounds in the 60s and a 73.2 stroke average.
As a program, Cal Poly completed the year with a second straight third-place effort at the Big West Championship, finishing the 2024 tournament at two-under par.
