
3 Mustang Wrestlers Named NWCA Scholar All-Americans

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly wrestlers Abe Hinrichsen, Adam Kemp and Trevor Tinker all received Division I Men's Scholar All-American honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) for their dedication and excellence in the classroom and on the mat.
The three Mustangs were among 338 exceptional student-athletes from 78 schools across Division I to earn NWCA Scholar All-American praise.
Kemp is a graduate student currently pursuing his master's in business administration. This season, Kemp captured the Pac-12 title at 174 pounds to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career. At nationals, Kemp went 2-2, finishing the year with an 18-5 record.
Tinker, a fourth year currently pursuing his bachelor's in recreation, parks and tourism Administration, earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships at heavyweight for the second straight season. He posted a 13-7 overall mark this year.
Hinrichsen is a third year currently pursuing his bachelor's in civil engineering. He finished fifth at 141 pounds at the Pac-12 Championships.
