Mustangs 14th after Two Rounds at The Duck Invitational

THE DUCK TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
EUGENE, Ore. – Jackson Parrish (above) finished as the Cal Poly men's golf program's leader following Monday's opening two rounds at Oregon's Duck Invitational as the junior carded a three-over-par 145 to sit in 24th place on the leaderboard.
Competing on the par-71, 6,997-yard Eugene Country Club, Parrish finished Monday morning's first round with a two-over 73, recording two birdies. He added two more birdies and an eagle on the 525-yard, par-five 13th hole during the second round for a one-over 72. Parrish enters Tuesday's final round eight shots behind field leader Matthew Manganello of Fresno State.
With a five-over 147, graduate student Austin Liu sits 41st. He posted a one-over 72 during the opening round with two birdies while eagling the 522-yard, par-five 16th hole. He returned in the afternoon with two more birdies as part of a four-over 75.
Junior Baron Szeto is 65th after an opening-round 75, second-round 77 and a 152 total. Graduate student Ben Quick fired a four-over 75 during round one with two birdies before shooting a 78 in round two with two additional birdies. He sits 70th with a two-round 153. Senior Joey Zambri, meanwhile, is in 84th after a two-round total of 157.
Competing as an individual, freshman Louis Pilod was 51st after a morning 75 before dropping to 74th following an afternoon 79 and two-round total of 154.
As a team, Cal Poly was 12th in the 15-program field following an opening-round 295 before dropping to 14th with a second-round 302.
Cal Poly concludes action at The Duck on Tuesday, March 26 with a final 18 holes.
