Sophomore Natalie Lynch captured the singles championship, while junior Sarah MacCallum and freshman Anushree Shekhera defeated teammates Eliza Bates and Lynch to earn the doubles title.
While the Mustangs were in the San Diego area, six Mustangs also competed in the ITA Southwest Regionals co-hosted by San Diego State and University of San Diego on Oct. 17-20. Senior Peyton Dunkle and redshirt sophomore Amy Leather advanced to the Round of 16 in doubles play at the event, while juniors Kennedy Buntrock and Alexandra Ozerets both made it to the Round of 16 in singles play.
The Cal Poly Invitational will be the first event hosted at the Ronca Tennis Center since the ribbon cutting for the brand new, state-of-the-art Comerford Pavilion this past Saturday. The completely donor-funded $8 million facility is the new home for the Cal Poly men’s and women’s tennis programs and is the cornerstone of roughly $10 million in improvements to the Ronca Tennis Center.
