Quick eagled the 516-yard par-5 fifth hole and also recorded four birdies, a pair of bogeys and a double-bogey on the 7,056-yard par-72 course.
Mustang teammate Baron Szeto matched par with four birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey and enters Monday's second round tied for 11th place.
