Northern Colorado Earns 25-9 Dual Meet Victory over Cal Poly

GREELEY, Colo. -- Cal Poly earned three decisions in a 25-9 loss to Northern Colorado in a dual wrestling meet Sunday featuring two of the top 10 teams in last week's NCAA Division I Mid-Major Poll.
The No. 7 Mustangs surrendered a fall, a major decision and five decisions to the host and No. 9 Bears in the non-conference dual at the Bank of Colorado Center.
Unranked Ethan Rotondo, the transfer from Wisconsin, earned an 8-2 decision over No. 33 Jace Koelzer at 133 pounds.
Cal Poly's other winners were Jarad Priest at 177 pounds and Trevor Tinker at 285. Priest earned a 9-4 decision over Branson Britten while Tinker was a 10-4 winner over Xavier Doolin.
Falling to 3-6 for the season, Cal Poly wrestles its final five duals of the season against Pac-12 opponents, beginning Friday at Arizona State. First bout begins at 6 p.m. Pacific.
