Cal Poly Women's Soccer Heads to San Jose State for Final Exhibition

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Cal Poly women's soccer travels to San Jose State on Saturday for a 7 p.m. exhibition match.

This will be the Mustangs' final preseason tuneup before opening the 2022 regular season Thursday, Aug. 18 at Saint Mary's.

Cal Poly is looking to improve to 2-0 in exhibition matches this fall after toppling NAIA Westmont College 2-0 Wednesday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Senior Megan Hansen and sophomore Emily Nedom both found the back of the net in the match.

On Thursday night, San Jose State took down Sacramento State 2-1 at the Spartan Soccer Complex in its first exhibition match.

Last year, the Mustangs dominated the Spartans in a regular season matchup at Alex G. Spanos Stadium, recording the program's highest single-game goal total in six years with a 5-0 victory.

Cal Poly is 11-3-2 all-time against San Jose State in the regular season, with their last loss coming back in 2017.
